Bronze Wire Coil Pickup Winding

Winding electromagnetic pickups using hand-drawn bronze wire instead of standard copper magnet wire. The variable gauge from manual wire drawing creates non-uniform inductance along the coil, producing unpredictable harmonic emphasis. Combined with neodymium magnets, these pickups capture singing bowls and kalimba tines electrically rather than acoustically — hearing the vibration directly from the metal rather than through air.
