Carnivorous Plant Cultivation
Growing insect-eating plants — Venus flytraps, sundews, tropical and temperate pitcher plants, butterworts — in nutrient-poor bog media. The craft is in denying them everything a normal houseplant wants: no fertilizer, no tap water (must be under ~50 ppm dissolved solids), acidic peat-and-sand mix, bright light, and a genuine winter dormancy for the temperate species. Reward the plant for catching its own nitrogen, and it thrives.
