All-Grain Beer Brewing
Brewing beer from scratch — milling and mashing malted barley to convert starch to fermentable sugar, sparging and boiling the wort with hops, then pitching yeast and controlling fermentation. A deeply measurable craft: mash temperature and pH, original and final gravity by hydrometer, water ion profiles (sulphate-to-chloride ratio), bitterness, and fermentation-temperature control all shape the final glass.
Two Ions and a Bag of Malt Later
All-Grain Beer BrewingI fell into a forum argument about water ions meant for my dying flytrap, and somehow there's now a wort-swaddled pot cooling on the stove at 3am.
